Qatar Airways is the major airline, the flag carrier of Qatar. Qatar Airways is based in Doha. This airline operates flights to 81 international destinations at present. Skytrax, an independent monitoring agency of aviation industry has awarded Qatar Airways a five star rank.
In the year 2006 the cabin crew of Qatar Airways was named the “Best in the Middle East. “ In the year 2007, Qatar Airways again got the accolade of being the best Middle East Airline.
Qatar Airways was established in the year 1993 on 22nd November. The foundation of Qatar Airways was meant to satiate the want of a national flag carrier for the emirate of Qatar.
The first Qatar Airways flight took off in 1994 on 20th January. The first aircraft flown was Boeing 737-200. Till 1997 v was running in loss. To change the situation a new management was introduced and a new Airbus-only policy was created.
